All girls in the Calgary area are invited to apply to The Calgary Girls’ School. Calgary Girls’ School is a Public Charter School and does not have a tuition fee. Like other public schools Calgary Girls’ School does have a school fee for instructional materials which includes school supplies. Once a completed application form with all accompanying documentation has been submitted, girls will be contacted for a personal interview so that the student and her family have an opportunity to get to know the school and ask questions. Calgary Girls’ School seeks to find an opportunity for every girl who applies to attend our school. We encourage all girls who are considering The Calgary Girls’ School to contact our office in the early fall of the preceding year.
Admission Contact Information
Step 1: Fill out an Application Form and forward it to the Calgary Girls’ School. To insure that we set up the appropriate program for your daughter, please attach copies of your daughter(s) latest report card, final report cards from her last two school years, Provincial Achievement Test results (if applicable), and Canadian Citizenship information.
Step 2: Families are strongly recommended to attend an Open House. Check out our next Open House on:
Thursday, May 4, 2017 – 12:30 to 3:00 pm, Lakeview and Bel Aire campuses
*Tours take approximately 30 minutes
Step 3: Potential applicants and their parents/guardians are invited to attend an interview with the Calgary Girls’ School Registrar.
- The interview helps our school to learn about your daughter’s individual learning journey and begin to make plans that will support her in being successful in our school
- Parents are asked to bring any learning/behavioural/medical assessments: IPP’s, Psychoeducational Assessments, Behaviour Contracts etc. to help our school to best plan for your daughter.
Step 4: Following the interview and school visit, the family will be contacted via email with instructions on how to register your daughters’ at Calgary Girls’ School.
Because our school has an enrollment cap of 600 students there may be times when there is currently not space available in the grade your daughter is applying for. In these situations, her name will be added to a waiting list for spaces available for the next open opportunity or the following year. Parents are requested to advise the school if they wish to have their daughter’s name removed from our waiting list at any time.
Step 5: Upon being accepted, you will be notified in the spring by email with instructions on how to log on to our website, set up a username and password and proceed with online registration.
- Registration is not considered complete until all fees have been paid in full.
