Science

Inquiry is the process of finding answers to questions. Inquiry can be initiated by an interesting question asked by a student or by a teacher; it can result from an observation, a current event, or an experiment. The process of asking questions, proposing ideas, experimenting, observing, and interpreting evidence are the skills of scientists and the students at the Calgary Girls’ School are actively using these skills every day.

From grades four to nine students at the Calgary Girls’ School are developing scientific literacy. Scientific literacy encompasses the knowledge, skills and attitudes students need to solve problems and make informed decisions. Through their scientific inquiries the students of CGS are becoming lifelong learners and maintaining their sense of wonder and curiosity.
