Marlene Vazquez completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Calgary with a major in mathematics and a minor in science. She is a strong advocate for girls and has been a supporter of the Calgary Girls Charter School's vision and mission since joining the school in 2004. In the 2018-2019 school year she became a vice principal at CGCS. Previous to this role she has taught grade 6, grades 7-9 math/science and fulfilled a learning strategist role. Marlene has a passion for supporting students, teachers and families and has a strong belief that all students can succeed. Her dedication to meeting diverse learning needs of students has led her to pursuing her Masters in Education at the University of Calgary, focussed on learning disabilities and school counselling. Outside of work Marlene enjoys spending time with her family and dogs outdoors or travelling.
